Nine of us went for a 50th birthday lunch. We ordered from different sections of the menu but they dealt with it smoothly.  The food was excellent.  We had ordered a birthday gateau.  It was freshly made by their chef that morning, and arrived at our table with an indoor firework and beautifully decorated - and 3 staff sang happy birthday.  A great meal made memorable by the food, the service and the ambience.

What a fabulous place in the heart of the Dordogne.  Pure class.  Food, service and ambience was everything we hoped for. Take a bow La Petite Tonnelle, take a bow.

Fabulous meal.  It&#39;s a very traditional restaurant serving the classics of the region.  We had the 3 course set menu which was all lovely.  For starters mushroom tart, followed by duck and then walnut cake.  Other options were duck salad, Smoked salmon and creme brulee. Would highly recommend this place.  Approx &pound;35 per person inc wine.

The setting of this restaurant took my breath away.  The parking lot sat by the Dordogne; the few steps that took us up to the restaurant revealed a story-book village; my table looked out a small window displaying rustic rooftops...The food lived up well to the restaurant&#39;s surroundings.  I enjoyed our seared foie gras and duck breast.  My husband thought his local red was better from another restaurant.  We didn&#39;t have dessert after our rich entre and plats. Although I wouldn&#39;t trek out here just for the food, the whole experience was magical.

A charming restaurant with so much character.  We sat outside under the grape vines as it was a beautiful evening however the interior was delightful also.  The staff were personal but professional at the same time.  We started with the fish soup and accompaniments and followed up with slow cooked lamb and duck leg, all of which were delicious.  The town itself, right on the Dordogne River, is a delight.  Would highly recommend this restaurant.
